IIPA

International Intellectual Property Alliance: The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) is a private sector coalition formed in 1984 to represent the U.S. copyright-based industries.

Infringement

The act of copying, distributing or adapting a work without permission.

Institutional repository

An institutional repository collects, preserves and disseminates the research outputs of an institution. All Irish Higher Education Institutions have their own institutional repository or access to an institutional repository.

Institutional rights retention policy

An expressed position setting out the practice of retaining sufficient rights for academic works of an institution’s employees to make the work immediately openly accessible and reusable.

Intellectual property

A product of the intellect, including copyright works, trademarks and patents.
